This colour is fully water-soluble and has the same consistency and applications of any quality watercolour paint. Even when it has dried you will still be able to work and rework the colour. This is true of all the colours in the range except Black and White. Paynes grey is a much darker colour than Blue Grey, which is more subtle, but very similar in hue. This is the best shadows colour in the range for artists painting townscapes, as it is subtle and cool.
